Scrappy Intervention

As many of you know, I am a scrapbooker. And as few of you know...my scrapbook room is nothing less than a DISASTER!!! I don't have much time to scrap so my room stays a mess. You would think that I would keep my room clean so I can do quick projects in the little spare time I do have. Well, I am probably one of the biggest procrastinators in the world! GASP!!! I have never understood how I can be such a procrastinator and so disorganized when my brain is so organized. I am ...what some people call...OCD at work. Everything has to be perfect and it has to be done MY way.

Well, I recently read through a Better Homes & Gardens Secrets of Getting Organized magazine. It enlightened me to why and how to fix my problem of disorganization! In an article titled, "Ready, Set, get motivated!" This article lists different "attitudes" and "solutions" such as, Feeling Overwhelmed...(attitude) "There's just too much to tackle, I don't have the time or energy." Attachment...(attitude) "I can't get rid of these things. They belonged to a loved one, or I might need them in the future." Then come the next two that shot me right to my "ah-ha" moment. Procrastination and Perfectionism. Procrastination...(attitude) "I don't have the time or energy today, so I'll handle it later." (That is SSSOOOO ME!!!) and Perfectionism...(attitude) "If I can't do it right, I won't do it at all." (AH-HA!!!!)

So, with this enlightenment, I am going to challenge myself. I have designated a motivation partner. She is going to check up on me and make sure I complete the tasks I set out to do.

Now here is the amazing part....I am going to reform my scrapbook room in 4 weeks!!! I am going to have a detailed list of what to have completed and by when. I have broken up the room into manageable pieces to make this realistic for me.

Are you ready for the pictures??? I can't believe I am actually going to publish these, but that is the first step in my motivation program for disorganization rehab.
Yes...this is the entrance to my scrapbook room. I purposefully didn't pick up anything that I "set down to put away later" or anything that "fell over when I set something on the pile."
This is the closet. I removed the doors as to have better access to the "storage" without wasting space for the doors to open. Good Idea...bad storage.
This is the area between the back of my desk and the window. This is a perfect place for a comfy chair, should I ever have company while I scrap. Also, Gus tries to get here to look outside which is his favorite thing to do. So instead I put "out of sight, out of mind" objects here and get annoyed if he steps on this stuff to look outside.

The next 6 pictures are a 360 degree photo shoot around to room for general viewing.

So as you can see, I have my work cut out for me. I still have to make my task list before I can start. But I am chomping at the bit to get started. I will update every Friday for the next 4 weeks. Hope this inspires someone else to get motivated about something!

Neighbor's Daughter had a baby!

My neighbor's daughter, Amber had baby Ella on 10/29. I made her a premade brag book. I love photoshop and my new Epson Stylus Photo 1400. I can print right on my pages and create WHATEVER I want. It's almost better than a rub on. It's close.

Daddy, don't go!!!

Berkley came home for lunch one day. Gus and Gabi were laying around until, all of a sudden, they both got up and went over to the door. They didn't need to go outside because they just went out when Berkley got there. They didn't want him to leave!

Update

This is my Gus, his tongue is too big for his mouth. I happened to catch his tongue in action. What a puppy face!!!
Gabi is very much a camera ham. We were riding in the boat and she was catching the wind in her chops (lips).
Like I said...camera ham.
Gus and Gabi love to ride on the boat.

ah

Here are my monsters. Gus is about 35 lbs and Gabi is about 30. They are 15 weeks and 2 days old today!
What a beautiful day. I am home with cramps and a blotation device(my midsection), but it's pretty outside. Of course, that could turn not pretty. There is a "storm" out there, that could strengthen and maybe come our way. If that is the case, we're lookin at not so pretty weather by Monday or Tuesday. You all know what that means. Hanging shutters, long lines at work with complaints of not having enough water for every customer to by 100 gallons each!!! It also means, VERY long days at work with no lunches with hopes of closing the store for a false alarm. Did I say that last part? Yes I want the store to close because of a storm, but I don't want the storm. I will be ok with rain and thunder, except for the wet puppies that come back inside after a rainy "pee pee trip." Oh well, I am just going to enjoy this day and take as much Advil as I can.
